Handmade Quilt for My Baby Boy

Get ready for the crafty posts, people, because I have been knocking out some DIYs for this baby boy and his nursery!

I can't wait to show you all the finished nursery, but it'll have to wait a few more days so I can complete all the finishing touches. Keep on the lookout for his nursery tour soon, though :)

Here's one of my recent DIYs... my first ever quilt!
It sounds like a big deal, but it's more like a baby blanket than a quilt and, let's be honest, it's a little... rough around the edges. Literally. But I made it with the love in my heart!

I chose the fabrics based off of the colors I wanted to do for his nursery- dark orange, turquoise, tans and greys. I had my doubts going in to it, but I actually ended up finding all of the fabrics at Jo Ann's.  Who knew, right?!

And don't they all look so sweet together??

If you're wanting to make one of your own, I found the tutorial here: DIY Triangle Quilt, Easy Instructions. Easy, huh? I can do that! Alright, this baby sized quilt was NOT easy. It was a lot of work and took lotttssss of hours. But it was so worth it.

Ben keeps reminding me that our boy will always be able to carry around his baby blanket and say "my momma made this for me." Now isn't that the sweetest thought? :)

Oh! P.S. I also made his crib sheet with fabric from JoAnn's and this super easy tutorial ;)
