Hiiiiii, I'm Kayla. Here's me and my fam-bam. Gosh, they're cute, right?!
Ben is my handsome husband, Harvey is our sweet, sensitive four year old, and Amos Wilder is our fiery little baby-man.
We love strapping the babes into our vintage Burley bike trailer and riding downtown to our favorite coffee shops, local baseball games, parks or anything that excites us that day. Harv is totally in to all things legos, paw patrol and ninjas so by default the rest of us are as well. And Amos... he's becoming his own as we speak, but I'd say his current biggest passions are food (ironically, given his long list of allergies), dancing, and his dad.
Personally, if I've got some time to myself (which, let's be real, is a rare occurrence), you might find me reading, lounging in the sun on our front porch, catching up with a friend over coffee or getting lost in some creative outlet like sewing, painting or re-decorating.
I've always used writing as a way to connect with God and to solidify in my own heart the ways He's teaching and guiding me. That's a lot of what this blog is about... Writing allows me to put some tangible evidence to the work He's doing in my life, and my hope is that those who read my blog will see God as more real, intentional and accessible through the words and stories I share.
When you read my blog, you'll find that I write most often about God's desire to be truly present with us in our lives, to be near in both the high points and the heartache... about the truth that God not only wants us to know Him, but He also genuinely wants to know us, to speak to us and to walk hand-in-hand in this life with us.
He's not a distant God- His desire is quite the opposite, and I have been continually blessed in the ways He has proven this to be true for me, and I'm compelled to write and share that this truth is a truth for all followers of God, no matter where life may find you!
